Dear colleagues,
We still have some availability, mostly on the morning of 22 September, if you'd like to book a one-to-one telephone discussion of your Accreditation plans.
All the best,
Melinda

Subject: Archive Service Accreditation telephone advice surgeries 21-22 September
If September means business planning in your organisation, your thoughts may be turning to Archive Service Accreditation and how your archive service can use it for the coming months and years. We're happy to help with any questions, whether you have a last few queries before your application goes in, or whether you are just at the start of planning your development towards Accreditation over several years.
Please email [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> to book a telephone surgery slot for the afternoon of 21 September (2.30pm-4.30pm available) or the morning of 22 September (10am-1pm).
At our last surgery day, we handled enquiries as diverse as:
* How do we best deal with our complex joint service governance, to give a fair picture of our service?
* Being realistic, how can my non-purpose-built, non-standards-compliant service start to work with Accreditation to improve our situation?
* I'm used to working with Museum Accreditation: what are the top tips for how the standards differ?
* In the face of major service challenges, how can we use Accreditation to prioritise what comes next and advocate for our service users' needs?
* What can we offer to satisfy the evidence of financial basis, as a private organisation with financially-sensitive accounts?
My favourite comment was from an archivist who said, "I thought I'd feel better about Accreditation once I'd actually started writing things down. And I do!"
We look forward to hearing from you.
Melinda
