Two postdoctoral positions are available at the Gao Lab (Dr. Wei Gao, https://www.cedars-sinai.edu/Research/Research-Labs/Gao-Lab/index.aspx) at the Biomedical Imaging Research Institute (BIRI) of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, USA. Our focuses include better understanding of the neurophysiological mechanisms underlying both normal and abnormal early brain development, adult brain functioning, and brain disorders/diseases (including Bipolar, Schizophrenia, MCI/AD, Parkinsonís Diseases, etc) using resting-state fMRI, task-based functional connectivity fMRI, and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). The candidates will be actively involved in one of the research themes based on his/her research experiences/interests.
Successful candidates should have extensive research experience in at least one of the three modalities (i.e., resting-state fMRI, task-based fMRI, and DTI) and have recently received a Ph.D degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Electrical Engineering, Biostatistics, or related fields. Good command of programming tools including Matlab, Linux, and scripting are necessary to carry out the research work in this group.
Successful candidates will be part of a diverse group including neuroscientists, biomedical engineers, computer scientists, Neurologist, psychiatrists, psychologists, radiologists and biostatisticians, and will build upon the groupís previous work on functional brain imaging study.
