In conjunction with Imperial College London, University of Edinburgh and University of Glasgow, Mike Buschman, Director and Co-Founder of Plum Analytics (http://plumanalytics.com/about/leadership/) will be holding a series of information days for the research communities in the UK.
As the Eventbrite bookings draw to a close, we wanted to ensure that all stakeholders including those responsible for managing the Institutional Repository along with Research Support Information Professionals had an opportunity to register and attend alongside those members of the Research Office that have already booked onto one of the 3 events.
Helping you answer questions such as “How does PlumX offer significantly different benefits compared to other (sometimes free) metric services?”, “How does our research stimulate social engagement and public debate?” and “How do we monitor research marketing efforts?”, these information days are scheduled to run between 10:00am and 2:00pm (including Lunch) on 21st, 24th and 25th September.
The recent independent review on the role of metrics in research assessment and management (The Metric Tide) has stimulated significant debate in many circles. Mike, will further such discussions and explore the implications of new metrics, reactions from key bodies such as HEFCE, and the future of research impact, e.g. REF2020, in an informal yet absorbing environment. On Monday 21st, we will also be joined by a guest speaker, Professor Stephen Curry from Imperial College London who will be sharing his thoughts on metrics and research assessment having served as a member of the HEFCE metrics independent steering group.
Please join us in London on Monday 21st September, Glasgow on Thursday 24th September or in Edinburgh on Friday 25th September as we take a journey through the many ways in which research output can be interacted with such as, Usage, Captures, Mentions, Social media and Citations and how this information can be measured and used with the aid of the PlumX Analytics Suite.
The PlumX Suite comprises 5 services:
PlumX Metrics
PlumX Dashboards
PlumX +Grants
PlumX Benchmarks
PlumX Funding Opportunities
