Hello,
A quick update on the campaign to make London the world's first National Park City.
Since I last posted and update, we've moved things on significantly. You can now read our proposal for a Greater London National Park City (http://www.nationalparkcity.london/) and see how the media has been responding (http://www.nationalparkcity.london/in_the_news).
In terms of radical public geography... we are not seeking a legal designation from Natural England or any formal planning powers. Instead, we are slowly declaring London this new kind of national park. Once two-thirds of London's electoral wards (436/654) and the Mayor of London have declared their support we will have the legitimacy to declare London a National Park City.
In the last two months 31 wards across 12 boroughs (including Conservatives, Greens, Lib Dems and Labour councillors) have declared their support.
Please consider supporting the campaign by doing one or more of these things http://www.nationalparkcity.london/get_involved. You can also tweet any questions, ideas or relevant news to @LondonNPC #NationalParkCity.
I hope you find this of interest.
Many thanks,
Daniel
