Thanks again.
I'm not interested in showing that across subjects, on average, A>B and also that across subjects, on average, A>C. I want to make a stronger claim, and show that across subjects, on average, A>B and A>C. i.e., I would like to treat subjects with A>B and A=C as subjects with no effect at all. I believe this is the difference between performing the conjunction between the two contrast at the first level, and then moving on to the second level with the conjugated maps, and performing the conjunction on the two second level maps as you suggested. I hope that makes sense now.
