Dear Giulia
Thank you for this. Will you also consider looking at storage cupboards and drawers with wood components (maybe in a separate but related project)? In many ways problems with storage facilities presents a greater problem because material is likely to spend longer in store than on display. Also museums probably tend to spend more on display/exhibition cases than storage (out of sight, out of mind!)
Cheers

Subject: Survey invitation: Coatings for wood components inside museum showcases (in the same airspace as objects)
Dear all
With the support of the Clothworkers' Foundation, the British Museum is undertaking a research project regarding coatings ("sealants") to reduce off-gassing of organic compounds from wood components of museum showcases which are installed in the same airspace as the objects.
We designed a survey aimed at gathering information on the current practice in different institutions and we will be very happy to receive answers from any museum or heritage institutions.
The survey is available at the following link:

Thank you for your consideration.
Kind regards,
Giulia Bertolotti
