Isn't this the same issue we face in the production of born digital projects? A collaborative review, technical and content, seems the best way to go and involves more people.
I hope this great discussion leads to action. I have a Dean of Libraries who is eager to host this kind of project (an open access, multiple perspective review e-journal for digital resources in Classics). If anyone is interested in exploring virtually concrete solutions along these lines, email me off list.

If academics were (and I suspect they increasingly, if slowly, are becoming) in the habit of reading scholarly works on a Kindle or iPad, would the uptake of print vs e-book titles at BMCR be as radically different as we're seeing now?
