The Art Library Society’s Committee for Art & Design Archives (CADA) invites you to a free guided visit of the Special Collections & Archives and the Constance Howard Gallery at Goldsmiths, University of London on Wednesday 16 September, 2-4pm.

Goldsmiths Special Collections & Archives is part of the Library, located in the Rutherford Building. The collections reflect Goldsmith's influential position in the creative and performing arts, and involvement with the culture of local communities as well as broader society in contemporary Britain. The collections include Music, Art & Design, Theatre, Media and Film, Culture, society and the archives of individuals, some examples of collections include the Daphne Oram Archive, The Women's Art Library and Future Histories: Black theatre and carnival archive 1970s-2000.
The Constance Howard Gallery is an AHRC-funded centre dedicated to multidisciplinary textiles research, and is home to the Goldsmiths Textile Collection. The Collection, founded in the 1980s by Constance Howard and Audrey Walker, comprises textile art, embroidery and dress from all continents. The Constance Howard Gallery holds a specialist reference library that includes historical and anthropological resources on textiles and dress, books on textile materials and techniques, with a substantial selection of rare materials on textile and fibre art, exhibition catalogues, and books and pamphlets on individual artist
