The University of Leeds Library has received a Wellcome Research Resources award to create high quality catalogues and indexes to medical archives and manuscripts, held in the Special Collections.
This is a fixed-term post available for 30 months from appointment.
University Grade 6 (£25,513 - £30,434 p.a.)
Closing date: Wednesday 09 September 2015
You will be responsible for the delivery of the Wellcome project, coordinating work between teams, line managing the project assistant and reporting progress to the project investigators. Your main responsibility will be to ensure all archives and manuscripts in the project scope are catalogued to exceptionally high standards. In addition, you will create specialist medical index terms and authority records, cross-referencing to ensure discoverability of the collections online. You will create guides to the collections and promote them to the research community. You will assist with the physical management of the medical collections, including preservation and logistical exercises, and this work will inform the internal practice of the Special Collections team more widely.
