Where would you go if you were looking for advice and help on finding information? Would you go to websites which have 404s, pages of multiple "Sorry, there has been an error processing the feed" messages, search boxes that don't search anything, search boxes that search - well - who knows what because there is no indication of content, guides on keeping current that are 13 years out old, links to "Page is not available", pages with inconsistent terminology and design, pages which say "Sorry...Something has gone wrong with our site, we're really sorry...", or "Unauthorized: Access is denied" messages, or incomplete lists of resources?
No. Neither would I. Yet these are some of the things that I've been finding at various Scottish university library websites.
I also found a couple of library websites with quite good information.
