My client, based in London, has an urgent requirement for a GIS Systems Support Administrator. We are looking to interview for this role next week or the week after with a view to starting at some point during August.
The contact will be for 7-8 Months paying a rate of £300-£375 per day depending on experience.
Job objective(s):
To provide GIS systems administration, support and development services.
Key tasks & Responsibilities:
•Provide operational support for complex bespoke corporate GIS solutions, my clients spatial decision support system, and other applications as required, including their databases, code and tools.
•Work closely with other Applications, Infrastructure and Helpdesk support staff, to proactively arrive at business solutions and/or to resolve bugs implement user change requests.
•Liaise with external development or support teams on more complex solutions or bugs, or on development projects where these have been identified.
•Maintain an informed dialogue with my clients user community, ensuring that user expectations are understood and shared with other members of the Applications Team.
•Assist with preparation of documentation and procedure/process improvement.
•Management of corporate GIS software licencing.
•Actively manage the Applications Team support call queue to resolution ensuring that all calls remain updated with latest actions completed or planned.
•To work with the QA Manager to provide appropriate assurance in the testing and delivery of improvements and enhancements.
Candidate specification
Knowledge and experience essential to fulfil the requirements of the post
•Expertise in ESRI’s suite of GIS products - predominantly ArcGIS 10.x desktop and ArcGIS Server but including licence manager and extensions.
•An excellent working knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio, including solid experience in data management/modelling, spatial views and documentation.
•Experience managing installation of/and services within ArcGIS Server 10.x, including ArcSDE geodatabase management and design.
•Experience managing and using Geocortex Essentials, including software installation and setup, site and viewer creation.
•A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel etc.).
•Experience working within a support team.
•A good understanding of GIS in relation to property management and title and rights ownership.
•Intermediate Windows OS skills e.g. DOS commands / scheduled tasks maintenance.
•Experience in Python programming/development.
•ArcGIS Online service creation and management.
•Knowledge of data standards and experience of working with large datasets and projections, e.g. OSNI, WGS84, BNG.
•Experience of Sharepoint and TFS.
•Understand Agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies and the importance of quality management.
•A degree or equivalent in a GIS or IT/GIS related subject.
At least six years relevant experience in GIS related work.
