Dear colleagues,
A reminder that the postgraduate workshop and public research symposium
Screening Work will take place this Thursday to Saturday, 9-11 July in
Cambridge.
Registration has now closed for lunches and dinners but it's still
possible to come for the talks and screenings.
At *Screening Work*, students, academics and interested members of the
public are invited to explore, through subtitled film screenings and
talks,
the changing depiction of work in German-language moving image culture.
We are delighted that filmmaker Carmen Losmann will attend and present
her award-winning film *Work Hard Play Hard
<http://www.workhardplayhard-film.de/>* (2011).
Other distinguished speakers include the film theorist and critic
Professor Gertrud Koch (Freie Universität Berlin), and Professor Annette
Brauerhoch
(University of Paderborn), co-editor of the feminist film journal
*frauen und film <http://www.frauenundfilm.de/>*.
The programme can be found here:
http://germanscreenstudies.co.uk/events and includes a workshop in
German with filmmaker Carmen Losmann.
The remainder of the events are open to non-German speakers.
All events take place at the Mill Lane Lecture theatres.
