**apologies for cross posting**
That time of year is approaching, and this is a reminder from the
conference team of what is planned and our pitch to encourage you to
register for the conference. We have a great programme for Dublin
2015: three streams in the Archives and Records, Conservation and
Digital Preservation fields, with 66 papers and workshops being
delivered over the three days by 88 speakers. If you are looking for
value for money in a professional conference, look no further!

We haven't been to Dublin for conference since 1999, and much has
changed since then. We are all aware of the challenges that
'austerity' has brought to us, especially so acute to our colleagues
in Ireland. This is our chance to support the sector there and really
get to grips with our conference theme, 'Challenges, obligations or
imperatives? The moral and legal role of the record keeper today'.
Sometimes we hear each other say 'why do we bother?' when faced with a
challenge. 'We need to do this', is another comment I have heard and
this conference is that chance for us to talk about why we do things;
what it is that makes our profession tick; and provide us with
valuable responses to many of the difficult situations we face in our
professional lives. Please consider being part of this.
Registration for 2015 is on a par with last year, so those who have
attended before are well aware of the buzz that our conference has.
For those who haven't been before, we hope this encourages you to
register and join the conference environment with great learning
opportunities and excellent networking with your fellow professionals.
Don't forget our conference registration includes your meals and
accommodation in the Doubletree by Hilton (refurbished to the tune of
more than €20 million), our legendary Gala dinner (maybe the dancing
is legendary?!) and a most pleasing reception anticipated in the
wonderful setting of the Royal College of Physicians in Dublin. You
just have to get yourself there and bring some pocket money!
