As a result of our highly successful REF 2014 submissions, the Faculty
of Health at Keele University is expanding the medical statistics
infrastructure underpinning their two well-regarded research
Institutes:, Primary Care and Health Sciences (iPCHS) and Science and
Technology in Medicine (iSTM).
Several exciting opportunities are available and this post will
support newly appointed senior staff within cardiovascular research in
ISTM and the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM),
providing methodological expertise in statistical modelling and
epidemiological research, and to lead statistical modelling with
longitudinal and survival data, in order to obtain epidemiological
insights, enabling evaluation of the real-world effectiveness of
cardiovascular interventions to patients, and their associated
outcomes and so develop risk stratification models to optimise case
selection and enable prediction.
The post holder will have achieved a PhD in medical or applied
statistics, or a relevant related area eg epidemiology, or will have
the equivalent academic achievement. They will have experience in
statistical analysis and experience of assisting with grant
applications and the writing of publications from journals and
presenting research at conferences.
