The School of Politics & International Relations of University College
Dublin (Ireland) is looking to fill a research position for 12 months.
While the position involves engagement with all the usual aspects of
the research project, the role revolves primarily around programming
in the statistical software package R for a range of different
sub-projects within the overall project. These projects include
primarily simulations of the following kind:
· Monte Carlo simulations to investigate the estimation and
predictive quality of statistical models, in particular in relation to
spatial econometric models;
· Agent-based simulations to investigate theories related to the
diffusion and spatial patterns of behaviour;
· MCMC Bayesian analysis for some statistical models,
as well as assistance in the implementation of statistical estimators
and their packaging for public use.
