Fonterra (http://www.fonterra.com) and DairyNZ (http://www.dairynz.co.nz) are joint participants with the NZ Government in the Primary Growth Partnership (PGP, https://www.mpi.govt.nz/funding-and-programmes/primary-growth-partnership/). A tax-free PhD scholarship of NZ$35,000 per annum plus fees is offered for 3.5 years under the PGP scheme. Travel funding of NZ$5,000 per annum is also offered. The PhD scholarship is to be held in the Statistics and Bioinformatics group, Institute of Fundamental Sciences (http://ifs.massey.ac.nz/), Palmerston North, Massey University, New Zealand. The successful candidate will develop new short-run quality control procedures for dairy products under the supervision of Dr K. Govindaraju and Assoc. Prof. Geoff Jones.

Qualification & experience
-MSc or BSc (Hons, First Class or Second Class Division 1) in Statistics or Operations Research or Industrial Engineering
-Experience in statistical programming languages, preferably in R.
