Escape the northern winter and come to a conference with a difference: Academic Collaborations: Opportunity, Uncertainty, and … Profit?: As globalisation/ internationalisation become buzzwords, many universities are entering into collaborations with institutions in other countries. However, collaborations can be fraught if not carefully planned and managed, including management of relationships. Where are the opportunities, and what are the pitfalls? FICAP-3 explores these and other collaboration challenges. FICAP (Forum on Collaborative Academic Programmes) conferences seek to build on shared values between collaborative partners in which the overriding element is the aim of providing high-quality and professionally relevant learning experiences. Within this context FICAP promotes a measured approach to partnership development through a careful and balanced assessment of the benefits of collaboration, as well as recognition and management of the risks and challenges associated with particular developments. FICAP-3 will be held at BINUS University, Jakarta, Indonesia, in association with AUT University, Auckland, New Zealand, November 25 & 26, 2015.
