Thank you so much for this!
I have been flabbergasted by 'flat design' and all that BS for so long.
Now I have your post as support for my claims...
The single most stupid thing I've ever seen is "buttons" that are
absolutely equal to "labels". Nothing looks "actionable" anymore.
Why did they do it?
The lack of simple common sense baffles me. Damned hipsters!
[I also fail to understand why people build those interfaces that
require you to cover the focus of your interest with your finger. I made
a few "multimedia kiosks" back in the day, and one rule of thumb (pun
intended) was to make sure targets where large enough.]
