Dear everyone,
Apologies for any errors in posting this – this is my first post.
I am a qualified English & Media secondary school teacher based in Glasgow and I am looking to begin a postgraduate course in Information Management and Preservation in September 2015.
This follows positive interviews both for recent roles such as Wikimedian in Residence for the Museums & Galleries of Scotland, Development Officer at the LMA and a role preparing reports on the condition of archived films at the BFI’s Berkhamsted complex which I interviewed successfully for in 2000 but was, unfortunately, unable to take up.
In order to fully fund my studies and to gain new skills & experience in the archiving sector following stints volunteering at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Archives and University of Glasgow Archives this year, I am now looking to see if there are any paid roles currently available which I could combine with postgraduate study.
The part-time course at Glasgow University requires attendance at University on Mondays & Tuesdays so if anyone within commutable distance of Glasgow can offer any kind of paid archiving or library work on any day Wednesday to Sundays (or any part of a combination that I could put together for 3 days’ or more work per week) then I would jump at the chance.
If you have anything that may suit or have any advice then please do get in touch using my email details below and I can provide some more details on my skills & experience or anything else you may require.
Kind regards
Ewan McAndrew
