WEQAS are clear on advice; Cobas b123 users must process Both Co-ox & Gas EQA in proficiency. Standard approach important to ensure value & validity of method group stats.

Given previous experience with b221 instruments we were somewhat surprised at Co-ox sample processing procedure which exposed bio-sensor to this material. To date (only 2 cycles) no problems but expect if problem elsewhere only a matter of time. In mean time will stick to WEQAS protocol.

We have Roche Cobas b221's but only put the co-ox samples through the co-oximeter, as we are able to select what tests we require. I assume with cartridge-based analysers, the sample will go though the entire sample path regardless of tests selected.

Theresa, we don't have the ABL90, we use Roche Cobas b123s and are also having calibration issues with Glucose & PO2 after running the WEQAS Co-Ox EQA samples.

Kind Regards

Can I ask if anybody else is having issues with glucose after running WEQAS co-ox EQA on the ABL90?

Many thanks,
