Hello

My name is Rhys L Griffiths (Dr Shaw told me about this and is letting me use her name because she is lovely) and I write and present a science podcast called SPACE GRAVY.

Mia Blundell and I look at science in very different way which leads to some interesting discussions about all different manner of topics including lobster hands, man eating pineapples and cats in boxes. We have so far recorded 20 episodes, however we are in the middle of recording even more, and you can find them at:

http://spacegravypodcast.podomatic.com/

Or just search Space Gravy on Itunes, or other good podcast sites.

Please have a listen and let us know what you think. We are on Facebook and twitter, just search Space Gravy, and if you enjoy please subscribe so when new episodes are released you don't miss them.

If you want more info feel free to contact me through my website:

www.rhyslgriffiths.com

Thank you very much.

Rhys L Griffiths

I have great fun working for the Pythagoras's Trousers science show, which is based in Cardiff but I work from London.

I would also be interested in a list, especially since you don't need to be local to listen now that most of them are available as live streams/podcasts. Local certainly has its own advantages, including flexibility.. and they often cover science news that has been overlooked by national broadcasts despite being relevant & interesting.

I just thought it was a cunning plan to drum up listeners and to invite other locals to pester you with stories.

Nice move.

To complete the story, listen to it here:

One Love Breakfast | BCfm Radio

Makes a change from the wittering on national radio. (Can someone please tell them that the election is over?)

There must be a stack of neat science programmes on local radio. Is there a list anywhere? Of course, we all know about the Naked Scientists. Any more?

Whooops! Classic mistake at this time of day. Many apologies everyone - caffeine is still kicking in.

Hi Becky
One of the hats I wear is that of news editor for Bristol's One Love Breakfast, which goes out on BCfm 93.2, Ujima 98 and online via Pirate Nation Radio.
I'd like to run a news item on this - are you around for a quick telephone interview this morning? I am in the studio until 10:00am this morning.

If this isn't convenient, are you at the Sci-Comm meet this evening? I could grab a quick interview with you then.
Could you let me know via text please - 07847 540714.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best wishes
Matthew

Hi everyone,

Tickets for this year's Pint of Science Festival are now on sale!

I am the coordinator for the Bristol branch, where we have a great variety in our programme this year (www.pintofscience.co.uk/events/bristol<http://www.pintofscience.co.uk/events/bristol>), but there are also plenty of other events going on around the UK in London, Cambridge, Oxford, York, Southampton, Manchester and many more, so do come along, and any help with spreading the word would be greatly appreciated!

Best wishes,
