Boots is one of the most familiar and trusted stores on the UK high street, with an archive collection spanning four centuries.
The company archive has been operational for over 20 years and contains a diverse collection of documentation, audio-visual/electronic records and museum onjects illustrating over 165 years of trading - firstly as a herbalist and latterly as chemists, healthcare and beauty retailers. Our small team of archivists and records managers provides a fully integrated business archive and records management service at Boots support office for our commercial, new product development, legal, trademarks and public relations team throughout the Group.
As part of our annual training position as Archive and Records Assistant (12 month contract), you will get a broad introduction to the world of business archives and records management, with good practical exposure to a full range of professional activities, experiencing working life in a dynamic and successful records team with the opportunity to visit other archives and attend training events.
The role covers a wide range of duties but predominantly involves assisting with the daily operational activities of records management. The post holder will also be responsible for researching and responding to enquiries and assisting in outreach events. There will also be opportunities to participate in team projects and support our collection management activities.
The post holder should be a graduate (or about to graduate) with a view to pursuing a career in archives/records management.
