Hi - I am not an expert in this but I can say that we use the spirodoc laptop system and for that you have to use the 3l syringe for calibration. The software does not work with a 1 litre syringe. However different systems can use either - the vitalograph alphas that we have can be set up to use 1 or 3 litre.
