The Cancer Research UK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre (CTC) is part of the Cancer Institute at University College London. The CTC is responsible for the design, conduct and analysis of a large number of multi-centre national and international clinical phase I/II and III trials in a variety of cancers, to evaluate new treatments or screening tests (http://www.ctc.ucl.ac.uk/). It is one of the largest cancer trials centres in the UK.
We have a vacancy for a medical statistician, preferably with a background in clinical trials. The successful candidate should have a postgraduate (MSc or above) in Medical Statistics or related subject with sufficient practical experience in clinical trials and/or epidemiological studies. Experience of using statistical methods of design and analysis in medical research is essential, including survival analyses.
The post holder would undertake statistical analyses of ongoing and closed trials; work with the lead study investigator to write reports and papers to be presented at conferences and published in medical journals; and participation in postgraduate teaching (if they wish).
Salary: £33,353 - £ 40,313 per annum (Grade 7), including London allowance.
The appointment is funded for one year in the first instance.
