Principal Research Associate: Senior Medical Statistician (Honorary Senior Lecturer/Reader)
The appointment will be on UCL Grade 9. The salary range will be £53,119 - £57,760 per annum , inclusive of London Allowance.
The Cancer Research UK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre (CTC) is part of the Cancer Institute at University College London, and is one of the largest cancer trials units in the UK (~100 staff). It is responsible for the design, conduct and analysis of >100 multi-centre national and international clinical phase I/II and III trials in several cancers, to evaluate new treatments or screening/diagnostic tests. We have a vacancy for an experienced medical statistician. The successful candidate should have a postgraduate (MSc/PhD) in Medical Statistics or related subject, with practical experience in clinical trials. He/she will be a member of the CTC Senior Management Group, and expected to be an independent researcher, who can take a lead and responsibility for the design/analysis of clinical studies and related research developed withclinicians and scientists within and external to UCL.
The post-holder is expected to develop his/her own research interests in cancer studies (for example, developing statistical methods associated with missing data, Bayesian methods, or early phase trials). If the post holder has a background in research methodology, particularly those that have an impact on how clinical trials are designed or analysed, or develops projects in post, he/she would have an honorary academic position (honorary senior lecturer or reader), with an opportunity for future promotion.
