Yes, true, although I wish now I had clarified in my email that Dr Berns' paper does in fact touch on the spectral distribution of the brand of LEDs he tested. He found this particular LED had a reasonable spectral response curve. The issue would be trying to find out if any of the lighting manufacturers are using the brand of LED that Dr Berns tested.
