We are pleased to invite you to attend the 2015 User Meeting and Summer School on cavity enhanced spectroscopy in Boulder, Colorado, USA, from June 16 to 19, 2015.
This biennial international meeting brings together the community of experimental scientists who work in the broad area of cavity enhanced spectroscopy and its many applications. The meeting is a forum for presentation of the latest developments in the field of optical cavities, from fundamental studies to applications in different areas of research. Investigators from academia, government and industry are encouraged to attend.
The single-session user meeting is directed to the industrial, government, or academic researcher who is interested in deepening his/her knowledge on cavity-enhanced spectroscopic methods.
Newcomers to the field and those who are curious about the capabilities of cavity-enhanced spectroscopy may also be interested in attending the one-day summer school at no extra charge. The summer school precedes the user meeting and takes place in the same location on June 16, 2015.
Topics of the user meeting include, but are not limited to:
• Cavity ring-down and cavity-enhanced spectroscopy in its many forms and applications, including the measurement of trace gases and (single) aerosol particles and fundamental spectroscopy
• Optical frequency combs and metrology
• Noise-immune cavity-enhanced optical heterodyne molecular spectroscopy and related techniques
• Laser locking to cavities
• Spectroscopy with “unusual” optical cavities, such as those made of prisms, fibers, and monolithic resonators
• Thermal & mechanical sensing
• Quantum & nonlinear optics
• Tests of fundamental physics
• Commercial applications
The conference website (http://esrl.noaa.gov/csd/events/ces2015/) contains information about the location and an up-to-date list of confirmed invited speakers, who include: Jun Ye (JILA/NIST/U Colorado), Robert Byer (Stanford), Jonathan Reid (Bristol), Yinon Rudich (Weizmann Institute), and John Hall (JILA/NIST/U Colorado).
The website will also offer abstract submission, secure registration, travel advice, and links to accommodations in the near future. Abstract submissions will open in January, 2015.
We hope to see you next June in beautiful Boulder, CO!
Best regards
Hans Osthoff
on behalf of the CES 2015 organizing committee
