Hi Linda,
I think the project I described to you before that I am constructing (with
help from a web designer) for my Masters dissertation is quite similar to
what you are describing in your brief. I am using both content directly
from the museum (mainly images, also some Youtube videos already in
existence) and linking these to open access resources to create a
multi-layered and multimedia approach. For a low budget, I think linking
to existing content on open platforms (or hosting your content on them as
Jonathon Cardy suggests) is a very good idea. Using existing open content
also helps to democratise the voice of the museum.
Best regards
Izzy
