Dear Colleagues,
Apologies if you have seen this already, but some people on the MCG
list reported getting a blank email.
We are looking for a team to develop online and on site access to the
AmberSide Collection's growing digitised collection of film and
photography. Details and a link to access the full brief and a range
of supporting documents are pasted below. Anyone who would like to
discuss the project can find contact details in the Information for
Tenderers document in the Dropbox folder.
Best wishes,
Graeme Rigby
Amber Digital Collection and Updated Website
Amber Film & Photography Collective includes Amber Films, Side Gallery
and Side Cinema. Its extensive digital film and photography collection
contains interconnected narratives that have grown out of Amber Films'
and Side Gallery's work. Amber is looking for a team who can deliver a
robust digital storage and management system for this collection and
develop a website which allows the public to explore this unique
asset. Along with online and onsite access to the digitised works the
website needs to promote gallery and cinema programmes, provide access
to a range of other activity and offer online sales.
The development is part of a Heritage Lottery / Arts Council England
funded programme
The digital collection will include more than 10,000 images and 3,500
minutes of video
Appropriate storage, backup and disaster recovery systems are essential
The website should be visually engaging and enable a range of
explorative approaches
Amber wishes to enable the widest possible accessibility
The project is ambitious and requires an imaginative team with
relevant experience
Project duration: 3 years
Year 1: core development to be complete by March 2016
Year 2 & 3: support and maintenance required until March 2018
Budget range of £50,000 to £65,000 (excluding VAT)
