Hello,
Sorry for cross-posting.
An exciting new role has come up with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
The purpose of the Participation & Outreach Coordinator will be to deliver the participatory and outreach programme of work to engage audiences in, and
support the planning and delivery of, the Royal Shakespeare Company's (RSC) Swan Wing exhibition.
We are looking for someone who will work collaboratively with the RSC's Education team on the delivery of the schools and university focused activity, work with artists, audiences, community groups and external partners in the development of the participatory programme and contribute to the development of content for digital platforms, including the RSC website.
Deadline for applications is 1 May 2015.
BACKGROUND:
The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) is embarking on a transformation of our Grade II* Swan Wing, the oldest part of our Stratford upon Avon theatres. The project includes the installation of a major new exhibition which will immerse visitors in our history and showcase how we make our world -famous productions. The 1879 Wing was built as part of the original Shakespeare Memorial Theatre.
The exhibition aims to engage a broad audience by involving people in the history of the RSC and theatre-making in Stratford upon Avon. The experience will transport visitors aged 8 and upwards behind the scenes to capture the magic of theatre and the rich history behind our performances. Previously unseen treasures from our renowned archive and collection will feature in the exhibition, including costumes, set designs, props, photographs, paintings, drawings, audio and video recordings.
The exhibition has been developed specifically for school groups and their teachers, young people and their families, Black Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and C2DE audiences who currently perceive barriers in participating in the RSC's activity, as well as the RSC's regular audience.
The transformed Swan Wing will open in Spring 2016, marking the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death.
