Dear Caroline
We've made 3D prints of various items from our collections at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History. It's mostly been of fossils from the BB3D Type Fossil Online project (http://www.3d-fossils.ac.uk/). We've printed specimens using our own 3D printer as well as having things printed by a commercial company. We use the prints primarily for public engagement activities and I know that the other partner museums in the project have done similar things.
Best wishes
Sarah Joomun

Subject: [MCG] 3D printing and collections
Hello,
Has anyone had any experience of 3D printing collection items? If so would anyone be happy to describe their project and any interesting findings?
Best wishes,
