Museums are often told that digital projects need to be ground breaking in order to secure funding or capture the attention of the public and press. But what does this focus on the need for 'innovation' mean for the museums, and does it provide the best outcomes for organisations, funders or audiences?
The full programme for the day will be available shortly. Speakers will include digital leaders from the museums sector - including Lizzie Edwards, Education Manager: Samsung Digital Learning Programme at the British Museum and Peter Pavement, Director, Surface Impression - as well as representatives from funders including Arts Council England and Nesta.
This conference will share case studies of projects both designed to be innovative and in which innovation emerged through attempts to meet core organisational or audience needs, they will examine what funders mean when they say innovation, how organisations can foster innovation, and how looking to the future can help museums to innovate today.
Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
On behalf of MCG.
