Colleagues,
EDINA and Jisc's free annual conference for those who promote and support
the use of maps and geo-data at their institution will be held on Tuesday
the 16th of June at the University of Greenwich.
The event website and booking form can be found here: http://bit.ly/GeoFor15
At this year's event we'll be highlighting the large amount of new data that
has been added over the last 12 months and how you and your users can get
the most of it.
We will be joined by an Ordnance Survey cartographer who will be showing us
how they devise visual representations for their data. We will also
showcase how students and staff have been using data, such as the MasterMap
building heights, to carry out innovative teaching and research.
As usual we will have representatives from our data suppliers and GIS
software companies present for you to talk to over an extended lunch. There
will also be an update on what we are currently working on and the changes
you can expect to see to Digimap over the coming year.
We really hope you can attend the event, please feel free to circulate this
email to any of you colleagues who may be interested. The event is intended
for teaching and support staff, but postgraduates who demonstrate or support
undergraduate use of spatial data and services are very welcome.
Kind regards,
Tom Armitage.
