I'm sending this out on behalf of a colleague please contact him directly if you are interested in getting involved:
Dear Fashion Friends,
I'm emailing to find out your views on the following idea - I would like to start a new group aimed specifically at Fashion Librarians. Nothing fancy you understand – it could even be just a small emailing group where we communicate our thoughts, talk about new books & new databases, ways of training students in fashion databases, talk about all the new fashion exhibitions around the country etc. I just feel that fashion is such a specialised subject area with resources that are quite unique and students that use library resources in very different ways and it really is a growing area. Some people are floundering out there and we should all be helping each other as much as we can. I know there’s one in North America but I don’t think there’s anything in this country. So if you are interested in joining something (we’d need to give it a name) please email me – my details are below.
Many thanks,
Peter
