As far as I can see most of the traditional middleware is the walking dead, people are just hoping it limps on until everyone switches to clouds. At the moment the only support for the information system is coming from me, despite the fact that I haven't had a job for 2 years and I can't make any new releases (that needs Maria Alandes Pradillo who's on maternity leave). Gstat has in practice been unsupported for about 5 years, apart from occasionally restarting the server. Rebus I don't know but I doubt there's much effort behind it. The options are basically to keep using things as they are, or stop completely.
