Dear Colleagues,
This is the first call for sessions and papers for the October 8-10, 2015 meeting of the Association for Applied and Clinical Sociology in historic Montgomery, Alabama. Our theme, “Social Justice from the Local to the Global: Sociology on the Move,” honors Montgomery’s role in the Civil Rights Movement and highlights AACS’s commitment to the use of sociological practice to effect beneficial social change. Montgomery is the state capital and a beautiful city with a rich cultural legacy. AACS is particularly proud to hold our conference there this year, as it marks the50th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery March and the Voting Right Act.
The proposal submission forms available below invite a wide variety of sessions and presentations, from the traditional to the experimental. Don’t be afraid to be creative! We encourage papers and sessions reflecting this year’s theme, but also welcome work on any topic showcasing applied, clinical, and/or public sociology in action.
The deadline for this call is May 1, 2015. A second call will only be made if room remains after this deadline passes. We are expecting a large number of submissions this year so be sure to get your proposals in as soon as you can to be assured a space on the program.
Please note that you must be registered for the conference by August 1, 2015 to be included in the program.
We look forward to seeing you in Montgomery!
