Hello, I wonder if you might circulate this plea for help to relevant members the staff /students in the German Department.
I am a researcher into 18th-cent music (at Royal Holloway College) and am investigating the letters of the composer Johann Georg Roellig (1710-1790) to and from the court and Konsistorium of Anhalt-Zerbst.
I need help with a couple of letters written by a Zerbst cleric rebutting Roellig's arguments and complaints. I have made a good stab at transcribing the letters (see attached) but you will see that the few missing words I have been unable to decipher makes it difficult to make a satisfactory or coherent translation.
I am contacting the department in the hope that someone on might be able to help (for a fee!), or could recommend someone with the requisite skill, who might be able to complete this task of transcription (and translation)
There is a fairly short time scale - I need it all completed by the end of March since I am, reading a paper in April on these letters!
I do hope you might be able to help, and I look forward to hearing from you!
regard
Nigel Springthorpe
