Thanks for the response. I agree the series is worth a watch and I will recommend it to people to watch. I think the archives contain many treasures and should not be seen as a place of secrecy or misery. The reason I mentioned arcana imperii is that secrets are also records and they are managed in that way albeit not by our normal records or archival management.
The challenge in any state, as the series is likely to develop, is that what it collects and retains also reflects mainly, but not always, what the government or the powers that be consider to be important or worth collecting. To collect is to choose and to choose is to exclude. Archives have a very catholic approach to these matters but even without the political framework that some might work within, there are limits to what can be collected and provided space for display.
Whatever brings more attention to records and the records management profession are to be applauded and supported. Perhaps if the public had greater awareness and education about records it would make life easier for records managers.
