Apologies for cross-posting
Dear MeCCSA members
Professor Anahid Kassabian has come under attack at the University of Liverpool. She’s internationally respected in the scholarly community and, despite her solid reputation in popular music studies and film music studies circles, publishing copious and top quality research, and recognition for her scholarly and wider contributions in the UK and internationally, she's being put under close management watch about her ‘performance’, neoliberal university style.
I started a petition to stop what I refer to as ‘managed attacks’ on Anahid. Read more here:

If you're as outraged as I am, please sign this, share/forward/circulate however you can.
It's not only about a personal attack on the inspiring woman who through the years supported her peers and started a genuine community in the School of Music. It’s also about demanding basic respect for all academics and defending our freedom. Thank you for reading.
Best,
Dr Elena Boschi
Lecturer in Visual Communication, Liverpool Hope University
