Please could anyone share with me feedback that they have had from students/staff on using mobile shelving in open access of their library and/or how it impacts on their use of the library, thank you.
We don’t have mobile shelving in open access areas currently so if you have any comments to add or can provide some quick answers to any of the questions listed below that would be very much appreciated.
• What type of material did you decide to place in mobile shelving in open access areas e.g. loans, reference, special collections or archives? Have you had to make any changes depending on demand?
• Are sections locked down for any reason?
• Is mobile shelving a recent addition to your open access areas or are you planning to have some or change what you have?
• Were there particular reasons for the location that was chosen?
• How did you promote it? Did you need to provide any instructions? If so, what worked best?
• Has having mobile shelving in open access areas impacted on library staffing and if so how?
Thanking you in advance for your co-operation.
