Derby QUAD
Market Square, Derby DE1 3AS
Monday 20 April 9.30am (10.00 start) – 3.30pm
Speakers:
Morning: Miggie Pickton, Research Support Librarian, University of Northampton
Being a practitioner researcher: what’s in it for you?
This workshop will consider what it means to be a practitioner researcher, the benefits and challenges of engaging in research activity, and the potential impact of practitioner research on library services. Using the University of Northampton library as a case study, but being mindful of the needs of other library sectors, we will see how a research culture can be nurtured to the benefit of both the individual and the organisation. The session will include plenty of group discussion, enabling delegates to share their thoughts about doing research in their own library.
The AGM of East Midlands Member Network will take place at 12 noon – members will not be charged if they wish to attend the AGM only.
Afternoon: Are you planning to Revalidate? A short information session
