Mimas, in conjunction with Thomson Reuters, have organised a series of **FREE** regional training courses aimed at providing an overview of the recent enhancements and additions to the Web of Science. The new versions of Journal Citation Reports and Essential Science Indicators on the InCites platform will also be presented.
Please be advised that this course is tailored for subscribers to the Web of Science Service for UK Education and is aimed at library/research support staff at these Institutions.

Course description.

Thomson Reuters will be presenting recent enhancements and additions to Web of Science in order to provide attendees with a good understanding of the current offerings available on the platform. In addition , Thomson Reuters will be presenting the new versions of Journal Citation Reports and Essential Science indicators on the InCites platform. The new versions are brought together and delivered under the module name 'Journal and Highly Cited Data' (JHCD) - more information at:

The new versions of JCR and ESI deliver enhanced integration of key indicators into Web of Science which allow users to quickly determine a journals performance and identify the producers of highly cited research as indexed in Web of Science Core Collection . Attendees will gain a better understanding of the key indicators offered by JCR and ESI and how these facilitate the evaluation of research performance at the article, author, institution, country and journal level.

The course will combine a mixture of demonstrations and structured hands-on practical sessions. In addition there will be opportunities for attendees to ask questions, provide feedback and suggest relevant examples.
