Hello all
I am a PhD student in the Centre for Disability Studies at the
University of Leeds, and I am looking for people interested in taking
part in my PhD research about personal assistance for disabled people.
I want to interview two groups of people:
- disabled people who employ or have employed personal assistants (PAs);
- and people who work or have worked as PAs.
I want to interview both groups of people about:
- their experiences of employing, or working as, PAs;
- their thoughts and opinions about personal assistance and how it
works at present;
- and if (and how) they think personal assistance could be changed for
the better.
Each interview will probably take around 1-2 hours (but can be split
into shorter parts if necessary for accessibility reasons). I can
either travel to meet you (within the UK) and interview you at a place
of your choosing, or I can interview you by phone or Skype (audio or
video call).
If you would like to take part in this research, but you have access
issues that would make any of these options difficult for you, please
contact me and we can arrange an interview in a form that is
accessible for you.
