*Hi Jonathan,*
Gellner is talking about Victor Ferris Ayoub (Harvard) and Jonathan W. S.
Oppenheimer's (LSE) PhD thesis.
The Ayoub's thesis never generate the paper he talks about.
You can find part of the idea in the last part of the book "Community
political systems", edited by Morris Janowitz.
The Oppenheimer's thesis has generated a homonym book and also some small
texts in other books/journals.
Ps.: I am almost sure that "esoterism" is a Gellner's perception, not used
by Ayoub or Oppenheimer.
*Best Regards,*
*Jefferson VirgĂlio.*
