The Centre for Health Informatics and the MRC funded Health eResearch
Centre (HeRC) is currently seeking research assistants and research
associates in medical statistics/biostatistics with significant,
relevant and up to date knowledge in the advanced statistical analysis
of large health datasets to contribute to contribute to an extensive
programme of research. Specifically, you will be involved in
statistical modelling with longitudinal and survival data, in order to
obtain epidemiological insight, to evaluate the real-world
effectiveness of interventions, to enable clinical decision support,
and to identify potential opportunities for avoiding adverse outcomes
that may have been missed.
For the post of Research Assistant the ideal candidate will be
educated to MSc level in statistics with a strong interest in the
analysis of complex healthcare problems and data sets. Additionally
they will have significant statistical modelling and programming
experience.
For the post of Research Associate the ideal candidate will have in
addition to the above, a PhD in statistics and a strong or emerging
track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals.
