Apply for CRiSM Workshop Funding
***
The Centre for Research in Statistical Methodology (CRiSM) would like to invite applications for funded research workshops in any area of statistical methodology. Funding, administrative support and scientific input from within the Department of Statistics at Warwick is available to support workshops. Successful applicants will work with a member of academic staff within the department, who will act as a local organiser.
CRiSM has had over 30 workshops since it began in 2005. All of these have been between 1 and 5 days in length and between 20 and 150 participants. It is anticipated that most CRiSM Collaborative workshops will fit into these ranges. Relatively small workshop applications in emerging topical areas of statistical methodology will be particularly encouraged.
Assessment of proposals will take place by a committee consisting of the CRiSM Management team. Criteria for selection will include the scientific importance and timeliness of the area, the perceived ability of the application team to attract high-quality participants, and to organise a successful event, as well as logistical issues and constraints. It is emphasised that CRiSM has a very broad remit to promote statistical methodology, so that no particular areas of statistics will be excluded.
Applications should be made via the CRiSM website: http://warwick.ac.uk/crism.

CRiSM is based in the Department of Statistics and has been established to consolidate and strengthen the UKs pre-eminent position in the development of statistical methodology, and to support multi-disciplinary collaboration across a range of important statistical applications. The abundance of complex and often high-dimensional data sets in science industry and society creates difficult challenges and exciting opportunities for 21st century statisticians. CRiSM offers multi-disciplinary collaboration for significant advances across a range of important applications. This includes an extensive workshop program with events of all sizes in diverse areas of statistical methodology, including CRiSM collaborative workshop opportunities, and internationally competitive PhD programme to attract the most mathematically able students.
