Arturo, Martes species are notoriously hard to tell apart. There is a
Ph.D. thesis by Tor Holmes on this subject which is quite good. I don't
have the full reference but it was published -- probably through the
Journal of Mammalogy -- sometime in the late 1980's. Or you could inquire
