PhD Position on multiscale modeling of solid/liquid interfaces
A three-year PhD position is available starting from March 2014 as collaborative project between Johannes Gutenberg University (Prof. M. Sulpizi) and the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (Dr. Y. Nagata).
The research project is centered on the development of multiscale approach to understand vibrational properties in condensed phase systems, and in particular in water at the interface and in confined environment. The aim of the project is to elucidate the microscopic molecular structure and dynamics of water at the water-solid interface by collaborating the experimental group.
Mandatory requirements are: - master degree in Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science - good knowledge of statistical mechanics / electronic structure theory / molecular dynamics simulation is highly evaluated; knowledge of modern programming and scripting languages is preferred; spoken and written English language will be required.
Applications including a statement of interest, curriculum vitae and the name and address of at least one reference person, should be sent to [log in to unmask]
For more information, please contact Prof. Sulpizi ([log in to unmask]), or Dr. Nagata ([log in to unmask]).
