We have just advertised for a Web Developer (Ruby on rails) to take forward the Durham Priory Library digitisation project. The University aims to digitise and make available the manuscripts and books of the pre-Reformation Durham Priory, which is one of the most significant such collections in the UK.
We will be deploying Hydra and other open source technologies to create a rich user interface to the collections, as well as the infrastructure needed for ingest of the digital imagery and long term preservation. The project will feed into longer term digital library projects at Durham including the consolidation of our various repository applications using the Hydra/Fedora software stack.
See here for further information: http://www.jobs.ac.uk/job/AKP813/web-developer-ruby-on-rails/ Closing date: 19th March
Do please pass this on to anyone you know who may be interested.
