Dear Members of the List,
The Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale of Florence in Italy has digitised its collection of Islamic manuscripts, including 137 manuscripts in Arabic and 14 in Persian. One of the highlights of the collection is manuscript Magl. III, 24, dated 1217, which, I translate from the website, is the oldest known copy of the Shahnameh (Book of Kings).
The full list of digitised manuscripts is available at http://www.bncf.net/notizia.php?id=1291
Thanks to Celeste Gianni of the al-Furqan Islamic Heritage Foundation for sharing this information.
Best wishes,
MariaLuisa
